A packed and exciting arena programme awaits visitors to the 2009 Aldershot Army Show, commencing at 1100hrs and 1400hrs on both days:

1100hrs

  • Rockwood imageBeautifully performed to music, with amusing and informative comment, Britain’s most popular dog display team from Caerphilly, Wales, The Rockwood Dog Display Team, will perform tight rope walking, fire retrieving, hoop jumping and a unique backwards re-call. A show not to be missed by all dog lovers. (Sunday only)
  • Global Rock Challenge aims to foster links between cultures and schools around the world. This years National finalists, 100 students from WavellSchool, Aldershot, will perform a memorable dance drama created to contemporary music, prior to taking the production on international tour toJapan.
  • The ultimate family entertainment and a guaranteed crowd pleaser, The Shetland Pony Grand National will provide a high speed dash, blur of coloured silks, and flying manes and tails to re-create the excitement of a day at the races – all condensed into Shetland pony size.

1400hrs

  • Live from the USA, and for his first appearance at the Aldershot Army Show, the amazing Cannonball Man will open the afternoon programme with a death defying ‘flight’ across the arena.
  • freefall The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment Freefall Team will showcase their courage, skill and agility in an exciting sequence of aerial manoeuvres.
  • The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery return to the Show to present a remarkable display of horsemanship; the rarely seen Musical Drive with six 13lb Field Guns, 74 horses and 56 soldiers.
  • troops on horseback We welcome back the Royal Signals Motorcycle White Helmets, with their new and spectacular programme, riding at breathtaking speeds on their famous 750cc Triumph Tiger TR7Vs.
  • Soldiers from 2 Royal Welsh, recently returned from operations, will demonstrate the equipment and tactics used on the modern battlefield in an action packed display.
  • white helmetsThe arena programme will close with a moving tribute to all soldiers currently serving on operations and to the many veterans of previous campaigns.

All spectators are advised that many of the events will be noisy. As such, spectators with children and/or dogs are requested to ensure that they do not become distressed.
